Evaluation


I believe my article has met the design brief and my client likes the final product. My article reflects my clients style and personality, what she likes and what she is inspired by.

Since my client did not like my initial design sketches for the article, so I had to change some pictures. In my sketches, the fireworks in the background were shaped to look like grated cheese, and I changed it to an actual photograph of some fireworks. This actually worked out well, because I think the fireworks I have in my final image go well with the colours of the page.

My client did like my layout of the article, how one thing doesn’t take the main focus of it, and how the pictures in the background and foreground didn’t draw attention away from the text in the bottom left hand corner.

Hayley also likes the way I have portrayed her creative personality. For example, beautiful views give her inspiration, so there is a sunset sky in the background. She likes working in the fireworks programme and she especially likes the way I have actual fireworks in the background.

My article shows alignment; the end of the title heading Hayley Curtis lines up with the text about her in the left hand corner.

The colours I have used in my article are mostly subtle, which also reflects Hayley’s inspiration of sunsets. The colour of the title heading and the text doesn’t blend into the background, and stands out so it is easy to read.

Have finished my article in InDesign and started to write my evaluation

March 3rd 09

I showed my client Hayley what I had done in photoshop, and she doesn't like my layout, or how my fireworks are made out of 'grated cheese.' So I have changed some elements of my article to suit my client.

March 1st 09

Have finished my sketches, and have collected all my research images and have started to design my article in photoshop.

February 26th 09

Completed interview, and have made some sketches into what the final product will look like.

February 24th 09

Brief: To produce an article reflecting my client, IT designer Hayley Curtis. It will show her style of work, reflect her personality, show her interests and what inspires her.

It will be created in photoshop and InDesign.

I will also construct an interview in Word, asking her what her about herself to get the reasearch I need for my article.
